Coexistence with HTTP Redirector Filter

Microsoft ISA Server comprises a built-in application filter that is capable of redirecting HTTP connections from SecureNAT and Firewall clients to the web proxy service. It allows using cache even if users have not set up web proxy settings in their browsers.

Note. HTTP Redirector Filter has a serious shortcoming that strongly reduces its usefulness. When it redirects a connection, the user authentication data is lost. This results in termination of the redirected connection by ISA Server if no rules allowing it by the IP address or anonymously are present.

Bandwidth Splitter is aware of HTTP Redirector Filter and automatically adjusted to its activity in order not to filter the same traffic twice when HTTP connections are redirected from the firewall service to the web proxy.
