Using bandwidth usage reports

It is recommended to use Internet Explorer 7 (or higher) for report management via web interface.

Note. Only members of local Administrators group are allowed to use the reports management web interface.

Warning. Bandwidth usage statistics are collected only for traffic managed by some shaping or quota rule. If there is a traffic for which neither shaping nor quota rule exists, it will not be filtered by Bandwidth Splitter, and its statistics will not be saved. So, if you don't want to miss any traffic in bandwidth usage statistics, you can, for example, create a shaping rule without any speed limits, which applies to traffic from Anywhere to Anywhere computer set. Move it to the end of shaping rules list. Thus it will process any traffic for which you don't have any other rules.

Note. Bandwidth Splitter writes bandwidth usage stats to database every hour. So don't expect to see the data in reports right after you enabled the bandwidth usage logging.

Click the Home link to open the list of your report jobs. Initially, after installation, you will see there several pre-created report jobs. You can use them as an example before you create your own jobs. You can change them in any way, or even delete, if you don't like them.

Here is a brief description of actions you can perform on a report job:

View last report – View the last generated report by this job. It is inactive if last report has Running or Failed state, or if no reports were generated yet.

Send last report to e-mail – Send the last generated report by this job to e-mail addresses that you specify. It is inactive if last report has Running or Failed state, or if no reports were generated yet.

Run now – Run the report job. It will create a new report under this report job. It will also delete the oldest report if current number of reports exceeds the maximum value defined in report job properties. Initial state of new report is Running. When report generation is complete, its status is changed to Succeeded. If there was an error, its status is changed to Failed.

View/edit properties – Shows you the properties of this report. If you change the report job properties, it does not modify already generated reports in any way.

Create copy – Create a copy of this report job. The new report job will have the same properties, but generated reports are not copied.

Delete – Delete the report job. It will also delete all reports generated by this report job. Report job can't be deleted when it generates a report.

If you expand a report job, you can see the reports that were generated by this job (if any).

Here is a brief description of actions you can perform on a report:

View report – View this report. It is inactive if report has Running or Failed state.

Send report to e-mail – Send the report to e-mail addresses that you specify. It is inactive if report has Running or Failed state.

Run again – Re-run the generation of this report. It is active only if previous generation has failed for this report.

Stop – Stop generation of this report. It is active only when this report has Running state.

Delete – Delete this report. It is inactive if report has Running state.

Note. Browser window is not updated automatically when status of reports changes. You may need to refresh page in browser to see the changes. For example, if you manually start the report job, you can then periodically refresh the page to see when generation is completed.
