Setup database for bandwidth usage stats

Apart from creating the database and tables, you also need to create login which will be used for authentication. (It is not needed only if all 3 components of bandwidth usage reporting are installed on single server.)

You can use either Windows account (preferred) or SQL Server account.

If you choose Windows authentication, create a new domain account which will be used for authentication. This account should not have any special permissions. Usually it should be a member of Domain Users group only.

If SQL Server is located on a different domain than Forefront TMG, you must use SQL Server account.

Note. By default, SQL Server allows only Windows authentication mode. To use SQL Server authentication, you first need to enable it. Details on how to set this up are beyond the scope of this document.
